New Zealand Midget Under-17 Ice Hockey League

The New Zealand Midget Ice Hockey League (U17 NZJIHL), founded in 2010, is New Zealand’s Premier Midget League. Running from June to September, the league features 4 teams: Auckland, Canterbury, Queenstown, and Dunedin. The league is for players aged under-17.

The League was first known as the U16 New Zealand Junior Elite League (NZJEL), but was renamed in 2014 to New Zealand Midget Ice Hockey League. In 2016, the maximum age was raised to Under-17.
